Good Morning, and welcome to my website Newsletter. The month of August was mostly spent researching my current work in progress. I made a lot of headway this month, but still on my first draft. What I can hint at is that it will be a contemporary romance. I’ve written contemporary romance before, but this is a different kind of contemporary romance. That’s all I can say right now, it’s different. It’s different from what I’ve written, it’s different from what others have written.
I worked with a new Logo artist this past month. We played around with word placement, colors, logos, and tag lines. Mine is: “Not your ordinary plot twist.” I like the logo very much, but I forgot to ask her to resize it to a thumbnail so that I may use it in conjunction with an internet search of my name. It’s what the person searching on Google will find. It’s a graphic I tell the website designer (WordPress) to display as the image associated with my domain name.
This new term, SEO feature I need to add to my things to further research. Because as I write this I am looking at my scores and one has a 70/10 (AISEO) and now I see a new one 33/100 (SEO Headline analyzer). Now that I’ve lost half of your attention, I move along to my story.
I’ve posted a few more videos on TikTok and worked on increasing my followers. It is a slow go. I’m now at 309 and last month it was 250 followers. That’s almost an 18% growth from one month to the next. I need at least 1,000 to do anything worth while. I’m so clumsy with the video production and the editing them. I will continue to improve videos and creating content. I am working on a major video which I’m going to hone in and improve my video editing skills. I’m going to try Canva and give it the good old college try and try to create something I won’t cringe at and also be vulnerable. I mean after all she invited her followers to be creative and submit their duets. I think this is the video which will push me over the 1k follower mark on TikTok. I went all out on this video, with costumes, and such. I’m working on it as I write this. I sure do hope I have the nerve to post it. And I will if I feel it’s halfway decent. So that’s what I’m going to work on in September.
In September I’m looking forward to returning home (back East) for a few days for the baby shower of my future grandson and to visit with my family and friends. As much as I can squeeze in a few days while we’re there. Do a little research while I’m there and enjoy the remainder of the summer with my loved ones. I hope I can wrap up my research by year’s end and begin in the new year with a 2nd draft of my work in progress. It’s a goal, it’s attainable and it’s me honing in on my craft. I will also be preparing some promotional material for Indie Author Day in November.
Until next month.
All my best,
